The UK government has set BIM standards for all contracts in 2016 but most of the companies are not able to adopt it. We are in talks with almost all sizes of companies in the UK and even leading companies are not able to achieve initial stages of BIM.
This scenario is due to improper communication to the companies about BIM levels Cheap Jake Gardiner Hat , but it is difficult to say when this scenario is going to change. The aim of participating everybody associated with government contract is to work minimum at stage 2 of BIM. This seems very difficult but possible in upcoming years. There are many complications in the structure of BIM and obvious benchmarks are interpreted from time to time but a general agreement is;
Level 0 BIM - This level is about conventional technology using 2D drawings and without collaboration. Even this level is not achieved by most of the companies.
Level 1 BIM - Uses 2D and 3D CAD drawings, the principal contractor administrates these drawings. Every subcontractor and designer capably works out and handles their own data. Most projects are at this level presently. Through 3D CAD drawing browser editing can easy.
Level 2 BIM - At this level, all project data is saved at a single platform by using 2D and 3D drawings. Again, each designer and subcontractor has to manage his own data but everybody c
