Stephen Jay Gould (1941 – 2002) was historian of science and evolutionary biologist. He wrote many books including Rocks of Ages: Science and Religion in the Fullness of Life and Full House: The Spread of Excellence From Plato to Darwin. Gould’s work in science continues to have a huge impact and is one of the most widely cited scientists. He died at the age of 60 from cancer.
