GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Packers sack leader Nick Perry could be done for the season after he sustained what coach Mike McCarthy called significant hand injury.Combine that with Clay Matthews lingering shoulder injury, and the Packers pass rush may be significantly impacted in a key NFC game Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks at Lambeau Field.Perry, who was injured in the first half of the game Sunday against the Houston Texans, tried to play in the second half with a large cast on his left hand but lasted only a couple of plays.A source said Perry had surgery on the hand.?McCarthy said Perry would be re-evaluated next week to see if he could return this season.I dont know the specifics of how long they think its going to be, but I know talking with Nick, he wants to go, McCarthy said Wednesday. So thats why were going to look at it Monday, and see where he is.It assures that Perry, the Packers first-round pick in 2012, will fail to play in all 16 games for the fifth time in as many NFL seasons. To this point, Perry had been off to his best start with a career-high eight sacks. Perry was playing on a one-year, $5 million contract after the Packers declined to pick up the fifth-year option his rookie deal.I feel terrible for Nick, McCarthy said. He was having a great season, clearly his best season. Hes had a setback. How we plan moving forward, frankly its the same thing we do each and every week. Its based on the health of your team. Our job is to put players in position to be successful. We feel good about our plan, and plan on being successful Sunday.Matthews wont practice on Wednesday or Thursday in an effort to help him be more effective than he was in a 29-snap stint against the Texans. He failed to record a single tackle or quarterback hit. Matthews suffered a separated AC joint in his left shoulder on what he called a cheap-shot block by Philadelphia Eagles lineman Allen Barbre. He was extremely limited in the game, McCarthy said. Each week its going to get better. Thats the hope. As far as having a setback, it didnt help him playing in the game. But I think it speaks volumes about Clay in gutting it out and so forth. ... Well get to Saturday and kind of see where we are. But the goal is to try to get some strength back in the shoulder. Also, McCarthy said quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be limited in practice for the second straight week because of the hamstring injury he sustained against the Eagles.Aaron will be limited today and then well see where he is tomorrow, McCarthy said. Hell do probably very similar to what he did last week on Wednesday.Cheap Vans Old Skool Australia . Everything else was looking pretty good though as he honored the 2015 World Series champions at the White House on Thursday, describing them as one of the grittiest, most complete teams weve seen in a long time. The Royals last visited the White House in 1985, when President Ronald Reagan saluted their never-say-die spirit in the Rose Garden. The 2015 team showed the same quality. Six outs away from playoff elimination, the Royals scored seven runs to defeat the Houston Astros. They went on to win that series and to beat the Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Mets. Obama noted that the Royals held the record for comeback wins in the playoffs.Obama also acknowledged that it had been a long time between visits to the White House for Kansas City. Lets face it, its been a long road for Royals fans, Obama said. There were some dark years, some tough decades. But Obama said that began to change when general manager Dayton Moore was hired and the Royals started to develop talented players through their minor league system. Among them: outfielder Alex Gordon, infielders Mike Moustakas and Eric Hosmer, and catcher Salvador Perez.Obama ccalled each of the players by his nickname: Gordo, Moose, Hos and Salvy.dddddddddddd But the president didnt seem to find those too creative. Were going to have to work on these, Obama said. When the president calls you out, you definitely got to start thinking about something, Hosmer said after the ceremony. Weve got some guys in the locker room, Im sure theyre starting to bear down on that. However, Obama admitted to liking outfielder Jarrod Dysons description of one of the teams top weapons: Thats what speed do.Thats a good quote, Obama said.Obama noted that his press secretary, Josh Earnest, is a big Royals fan, and that the Royals visit Thursday was right up there as far as his best days ever. Manager Ned Yost, Hosmer and Perez interrupted the days press briefing to present the Kansas City, Missouri, native with a team jersey, an upgraded mug and an autographed World Series baseball. Yost said the team didnt want Earnest to get into trouble by him trying to hijack the presidents jersey. The team gave Obama a Royals jersey with the No. 44 in gold lettering, which nicely matched the ornate drapes in the White House East Room.
