Fernando Alonso admits Suzuka has represented a step backwards for McLaren after he and Jenson Button were forced to settle for 15th and 17th on the grid.Honda came to its home race hoping for a competitive weekend but dropped off the pace on Saturday. Alonso switched to Hondas upgrade in Malaysia so he could run it this weekend without a penalty but still faces a start towards the back end of the grid.Alonso admits McLaren needs to hope for showers for Sundays grand prix.Definitely not the right performance in qualifying, Alonso said. All weekend long we have been struggling a little bit, trying to find the balance and speed of the car as well. Definitely difficult positions to start the race tomorrow, 15th and 17th are not the best places for the two McLarens, especially after some races we were used to being in Q3 and fighting for the points. So it seems to be a step backwards here, especially yesterday and Saturday, so we need to find some speed for tomorrow ... some weather change, some rain will help us recover some places. But we need to analyse why we underperformed.Alonso thinks McLaren is still struggling to find the ideal set-up on both cars.So far it has been disappointing, no doubt. Its not great for our home grand prix but we didnt find the speed all weekend long, were struggling with the high-speed performance and straight-line performance.Difficult to balance this in terms of downforce choices, etc, so not the ideal place to start the race but hopefully we can recover some places, maybe some rain around tomorrow because in a normal race, normal circumstances it will be difficult to gain places.Though admitting its been a step backwards, Alonso does not believe it is a sign McLaren and Hondas latest upgrades have gone in the wrong direction.I think everything is working. Five days ago we were performing really well in Malaysia. Its just circuit to circuit seems to change the performance of the car, or our competitors - here it seems Force India and Haas are running very quick, in Singapore Toro Rosso was running very quick. So depending circuit to circuit and this one is probably not in our sight, so we need to understand why.Courtland Sutton Womens Jersey . With the amount of money given to players by their clubs these days, it is a wonder that so many of those teams allow the sport to continue to take away many of their assets so they can play for a different team in the middle of their season. We are playing at home and make no mistake, we are going to do everything to win the game and stay in the race, Bilic said. And to stay high in the table, thats our aim. We know its going to be hard, of course its going to be hard, it is Arsenal. West Ham are playing their final season at Upton Park But we have almost a full squad back, they are fresh, we are looking good, and as I said we are full of respect for the Gunners. They deserve it, they are Arsenal and at the end of the day they are above us in the table. But again, we play at home and we are confident West Ham won 2-0 in the corresponding fixture against their London rivals in August with goals from Cheikhou Kouyate and Mauro Zarate. And while Bilic is upbeat on West Hams chances of securing another win over Arsenal, he is adamant his side will have to work hard to get anything from the match as their opponents have beaten Everton 2-0 and Watford 4-0 in their last two games. Dimitri Payet celebrates with West Ham boss Slaven Bilic Bilic added: Its about our form and our position in the table that makes us confident.dddddddddddd That game was ages ago. But its nice to know, in the back of your mind, that we played them and beat them 2-0. But it doesnt have much to do with this game. The last few games they played with pace and skill and they are very lethal, especially in the last two games against Everton and Watford. Theyre in good form.It is a London derby. Its a big game. The season is approaching the end and its very important for them and for us. We are both fighting for a place in Europe, or from their point of view to be champions. They have a chance on paper but they have to win all their remaining games. Its a big game.We need three points too if we want to stay in the race for top-four or five. It should be a great game of football. The games are vital. We have a great but tough week against Arsenal and then a replay against Manchester United, then Leicester on Sunday. We are only thinking about Arsenal now, then we have three days to recover for Manchester United. We are not putting the league or cup in-front of the other. We are going to put out the best team we can. Also See:Wenger opted against PayetQUIZ: Top of the statsWest Ham stats ' ' '
